The Devils are playing the Canadiens, the Blues are playing the Lightning. Is the NHL clueless, any reason to play games during the Super Bowl?
Great, three and out, Jets could not do that, really?

Super Bowl
Have not left for Packer Palooza yet, not fired up for this game. It reminds me of the Soccer bowl we went too. The Cosmos lost, so the Vancouver Whitecaps played the Tampa Bay Rowdies.
"For the Vancouver Whitecaps, Soccer Bowl 1979 began with howls of execration raining down on them. Only a week before they had committed the sin of knocking the Cosmos out of the playoffs. And on Saturday afternoon the 50,699 fans at Giants Stadium in East Rutherford, N. J.—all but a few of them Cosmos supporters—showed that they were still choking on the fearful truth that, so sorry, no Franz, no Giorgio, no Bogie would be around when the trophy was presented.
But there it was: Vancouver against the Tampa Bay Rowdies. All right. Tampa you could live with. In four trips to the Meadowlands, the Rowdies hadn't won. In losing at last year's Soccer Bowl 3-1, they had been a punching bag for the Cosmos."

Who watches Glee anyway? (oh, Liz does)
There are no Jets on the field.
hah, Christina screwed up the anthem, didn't she?

I just watched Lombardi on HBO, a New Yorker saved the Packers. I'll bring that up at the Palooza.
Tomorrow, or the next day, many of these dudes won't even be on the Packers or Steelers ever again, just saying.
Way to go Marshall!

Sunday Morning
Bolton - Spurs:
I recorded this game, just watched it in about 10 minutes. Bolton chokes in the extra time to lose 2-1. They did not get a "result". My brother thinks he is from Leeds when he talks soccer, Fulham got a result! he says. Bro, you were born in Brooklyn.
Michigan State - Wisconsin:
They must already be drinking in Wisconsin for this one, just a warm up for the Super Bowl.
I have not cared about the Super Bowl since I was 7 months old, and I probably did even get to watch that game.
I just read my post about the Islander game yesterday, it may be, well, probably is, the most boring blog post in the history of blogs.

Isles - Senators

Moulson scores, 13 seconds later the Isles look lost and the Sens tie it, duh.
Power Play Isles, we will see. Not looking good, no shots, where is Tavares?
So JT is not on Moulsons line anymore, I have no idea what the Isles are doing, does anyone know?
Grabner scores, best waiver pickup ever.
Senators score, they have one win in 15 games, they beat the Islanders.
Butch Goring, what a great Islander, horrible announcer.
Kovalev scores, 3-2 Sens, hoping for first pick in the draft.
Isles score, 3 - 3, wow, what a period.
Saturday Morning

Doug Flutie on SportsCentury, he came to my birthday party at Filippi's one year. He was very quiet, sat by himself and left me alone out of respect for my birthday. Thanks Doug.
Wolves - Manchester United:
This game is tied at one, Wolves are from Wolverhamtpon.
Wolverhampton is a city and metropolitan borough in the West Midlands, England. In 2004, the local government district had an estimated population of 239,100;[2] the wider Urban Area had a population of 251,462,[3] which makes it the 13th most populous city in England.

Wolverhampton is represented in the Premier League by Wolverhampton Wanderers F.C. "Wolves", as they are known, are one of the oldest English football clubs, and were one of the 12 founder members of the Football League. Their most successful period was the 1950s, where they won three Football League Championships (then the highest division) and two FA Cups, and were involved in the earliest European friendlies. They were hailed by the press as "The Unofficial World Champions" after one of their most famous victories, against Budapest Honvéd FC of Hungary. They were also the first English team to play in the Soviet Union.
Still tied at one, moving on from this one.
Samford - Georgia Southern hoops - it is 0-0 and I can find no reason to keep watching this game.
You know you really need to get a life if you are watching Utah vs Texas, NBA D-League, but, I am, right now, it is true. There are actually people at this game. The score is 12-12, Joe Alexander just scored, enough already.
Check this one out: Newberry at Lenoir-Rhyne womens college hoops, this game is on TV, I am not joking.
MLB Network - "Top 50 Most Infamous Arguments: Featuring the greatest player/manager/umpire arguments in MLB history" That is the title of the show, enough said.
I just figured out that HRTV means, horse racing tv.
St. Johns vs UCLA: Well, I turned to this game, and, it's a commercial. This seems to be a common theme in hoops, commercial, commercial, commercial, 3 minutes of game action, timeout, commercial, commercial, commercial, 1 minute of game action, timeout, commercial, commercial commercial.

Sweet shorts Chris Mullin.
Red Storm up 9-4. Dwayne Polee Jr. is on St. Johns, I saw his dad play at Pepperdine, that was a while ago, eh? Call me nuts, but, St. Johns could make a run in the tourney, last week vs Duke and this game vs UCLA, they look good. You heard it here first. Now, I would say more but I am currently watching a commercial.
What happened to UCLA anyway? How are they not good?
Sometimes it's more entertaining to go over to PB Rec Center and watch a bunch of surfers, bartenders and whatever else they are play than staring at commercials all day.
Third commercial in 6 minutes. The game clock has moved 2 minutes, moving on.
Cleveland State is on vs Butler, remember Mouse Mcfadden?

"Mighty "Mouse" McFadden and Kevin Mackey's 14th-seeded Cleveland State Vikings turned in one of the most talked-about upsets in tournament history, beating Knight's third-seeded Hoosiers 83-79 in 1986. Just a freshman at the time, McFadden scored 32 points in the first two rounds, helping the 27-3 Vikings reach the Sweet 16 in their only NCAA appearance."
Back to St. Johns, commercial, I am out.

Saturday, January 29
Georgetown - Nova:
Hoyas up by 5 in second half, I can't name one player on either team.
Neither team can shoot, lots of fouls and free throws, whatever.
Xavier - Richmond:
59-48 Xavier. What a surprise, I turn the game on and they call a timeout, hoops for ya.
Womens hoops, Oklahoma at Oklahoma State:
huge game, huge. Oh, it's a timeout, surprising. If they want anyone to ever watch womens hoops, no timeouts, no free throws. Once they call a timeout and you change the channel, you will never go back. I'm not saying the score because I don't care.
I have watched three games for 10 minutes and have seen, 4 fouls, three turnovers, three timeouts and 1 basket.
I am done with this game.
Minnesota - Purdue:
Wait, it's a timeout
Farmers Open from Torrey Pines:
I have played twice at Torrey, once North, once South. On the South Course, it was so foggy I could not see my ball after I hit it, disappeared, then I walked into the fog hoping to find the ball. The course is on the ocean, but, I never saw any water.
On the North course, I shot a 42 in the first 9, 42! Then a 54 on the back for a 96, my greatest round ever.
Commercial, again.
I am hungry, I can make eggs, pancakes or cereal, not sure yet. I need a personal chef. In my fridge I have: Eggs, gatorade, cheese, beans, a bell pepper, a tiny can of tuna fish, tortillas and soup. That is all that is in there, and, I live 30 feet from a Vons, pathetic.
My buddy said, dude, I'll get tickets to Torrey, we will go Satuday, I have heard nothing.
Jon Daly was wearing something like this yesterday.

Mickelson, par 4, 5th hole - yanks it in the rough
Tiger - putting from outside the green, that is my move, cannot chip at all. Almost made it, brilliant idea.
Ralph Sampson III plays for Minnesota, who knew?
Ewing Dunks on his dad:

Not really into Minnesota - Purdue. Oh, a timeout.
I need to eat, mostly useless hour of sports.
